Across Borders supports, on an international scale, the emergence of new artistic aesthetics by artists based in France, and – through a reciprocal approach – promotes the visibility of international artists in France. The hub positions itself as a space for shared practices and possibilities, highlighting artistic and cultural work connected to public and non-conventional spaces. Across Borders fosters participatory arts and multidisciplinary creations, encouraging the development of sustainable projects designed to grow over time and build meaningful connections with their local contexts.
Four major partners, with complementary roles and expertise, combine their strengths and know-how to support and advocate for artistic creation in public space internationally :
Across Borders operates in close synergy with IN SITU, the European platform for artistic creation in public space. Both initiatives are led by Lieux Publics and mutually reinforce their international reach for a greater infl uence on the art in public space ecosystem.
From 2025 to 2029, Across Borders is co-funded by the French Ministry of Culture as part of the International Hub for Production and Distribution (PIPD) programme.
